— Before You Book

What to Expect

This is a working cattle ranch, not a performance. Here’s what a real week looks like — the daily rhythm, the season, the work, and what to bring.

— Sunup to Sundown

A Typical Day

No two days are identical — the ranch sets the schedule, not the itinerary. But most days follow a rhythm.

Morning

Ranch Work Begins

Coffee, a ranch breakfast, then saddle up — checking cattle, moving pairs between pastures, riding out with the crew.

Midday

Whatever the Day Calls For

Branding, roping, doctoring — midday work follows the ranch’s needs, not a set itinerary. You’ll be in it, not watching it.

Afternoon

Out on the Range

Trail rides through the pines and open pasture, or more time in the saddle working horses and cattle.

Evening

Wind Down

Dinner around 6:30, then camp chairs, a guitar, and the kind of quiet you don’t get back home.

Night

Last Light

One more look at the horses before dark, moonrise over the range, and an early night before it starts again.

— Ranch Work Follows the Calendar

04

Fall

September – November

Gathering cattle closer to home, prepping and weaning calves for shipping.

05

Winter

November – March

Feeding hay, breaking ice on water tanks, colt-starting season, cutting firewood.

— Beyond the Daily Work

What Else You Can Do

Extra events and excursions fill the time between chores — transportation and a packed lunch included on any day trip.

— Come As You Are

All Skill Levels Welcome

Whether you’ve never sat a horse or you’ve roped your whole life, the work is matched to what you can handle — real ranch work, at your pace.
